LIP BLUSHING

Lip Blushing is a semi-permanent cosmetic procedure designed to enhance the appearance of your lips by adding color and definition. A machine is used to deposit pigment into the upper layers of the skin to create a natural-looking tint or shade. The procedure can improve the appearance of thin, pale, or uneven lips. It can also define lip borders, create a more symmetrical shape, and give your lips a subtle flush of color.

Pricing

  • If you have never had your lips done before, this service is for you. Lip Blushing for untouched lips always requires 2 sessions—an initial session and a perfecting session. It is very important to complete both of them in order to achieve your best results. The perfecting session must be completed within 6-8 weeks of your initial session. If you cancel, reschedule, or complete your perfecting session after the 6-8 week window, an additional fee will apply. Here is the payment schedule:

    • $75 non-refundable booking deposit (applied toward total cost)

    • $500 due at initial session

    • $200 due at perfecting session

In rare cases, a 3rd session may be necessary due to skin type and/or lack of proper aftercare. If you happen to need a 3rd session, it must be completed within 6-8 weeks of your perfecting session, and an hourly rate of $60 will be charged. These sessions are only scheduled by request, so please call or email us to book.

  • Existing clients are not required to visit us each year to get the yearly refresher price. However, when you start filling in your lips with makeup or find yourself desiring a different color, it’s time to come and see us. We cannot spot treat your lips, so please wait until the entire area needs to be treated before you book a yearly refresher service. Here is the payment schedule:

    • $25 non-refundable booking deposit (applied toward total cost)

    • $350 due at yearly refresher

  • If you are a new client coming in for a yearly refresher from another studio, the price is $500. In order to book this service, you must text a photo of your existing lips to 330-805-0084 and then receive approval from us to book. Once you are an established client, you will receive the yearly refresher price for existing clients. The payment schedule for a yearly refresher for new clients is:

    • $50 non-refundable booking deposit (applied toward total cost)

    • $450 due at yearly refresher

Please note that this service may also require a perfecting session 6-8 weeks later. We cannot guarantee that a single session will give you full results since you are coming to see us for the 1st time from another studio. Your needs will depend on how much pigment you have when you come to see us, how deep the previous artist went, and what type of pigment was used. If you require a perfecting session, you will only have to pay the remaining balance of our untouched lips price.

FAQs

  • If this is your 1st time receiving semi-permanent makeup, please note it is a 2-step process. Sessions are scheduled 6-8 weeks apart. The 2nd session is not optional, so do not expect to love your lips until after your 2nd session. There is a reason you need to return. You will not retain all of the pigment after the 1st session. The 2 appointments build on top of each other. Lip Blushing is very much cosmetic procedures, not makeup. Just like any other cosmetic procedure, you need to be patient, willing to trust the process, and wait for your final results. But no need to worry, as you are waiting for your 2nd session, you can fill in your lips with makeup if you need to.

  • Lip Blushing can last 12-36 months depending on your age, sun exposure, and products used. Spending a lot of time in the sun or using exfoliants on your lips can also cause premature fading. After your 1st session, we will educate you on how to retain pigment the longest. But you can expect to do a refresher on your lips once every 1-3 years to keep them looking perfect.

  • Appointments book for 2.5-3 hours. During the 1st hour we will start by mapping you out. We do not use stencils, and this step is very custom for your lips. You will have a mirror the entire time so we encourage you to be very involved. This is the most important step and we will not move forward until we are both totally happy with the size and shape outlined. There are dozens of colors to choose from. You are welcome to bring to the appointment all your favorite colors that you are used to wearing so we can have a better idea of what you are looking for. Please be advised, after an appointment the color will heal about 50% lighter than the color you left with, so please do not be afraid to go bold at your 1st session, knowing your lips will not heal this way.

  • The healing phase can be a little emotional at times, but well worth it. This varies with age and skin type but you can expect the following:

    • Days 1-3: Your lip color will be darker because the pigment is sitting on top of the skin. The lips will appear bold, defined, and perfect. You may experience swelling, but treating the area with ice usually confines swelling to 1-2 days. Depending on how you are used to wearing your lips everyday will determine if you will be comfortable the first 3 days—these are by far our favorite days.

    • Pro tip: If you are not used to wearing makeup on your lips, we suggest days or weeks before your appointment, start trying to wear a darker color. This will make you more comfortable on the day of your appointment, when you see yourself with new lips for the first time.

    • Days 4-7: The body begins to close the wounds, and the pigment will start to look lighter. You might experience dryness and light flaking. All of this is normal and the lips may appear patchy. The pigment is hiding behind a protective layer of skin.

    • It will take 6-8 full weeks for that layer to shed off and for you to see your full results from the 1st session. Just at that time is when you will return for your 2nd session, and we will fill in any color that has gone missing. Unfortunately, it will all not resurface. Hopefully you retain 50% of your pigment, but that will be very dependent on your skin type and how well you follow the aftercare instructions.

  • The discomfort is very minimal, as a topical lidocaine cream is used before and during the procedure. The machine makes a light noise that many find to be uncomfortable so we always recommended bringing headphones to your appointment. We do not talk while we work so you will be able to listen to your own music or audio book.
