Third, 9 years and nearly 4,000 clients later, the times we've had to course-correct a healed result can be counted on 1 hand. No. Lip Blush can look like a stained tint. The pigment lives inside the lip line, and the color heals roughly 50% lighter than it looks on day one. The healed result reads as your own lips — just warmer, more even, and more defined.

Yes, within limits. Lina can refine symmetry, define a soft cupid's bow, even out a fuller top or bottom lip, and slightly extend the lip line where it serves your face. What lip blush cannot do is make your lips significantly larger — that's what filler is for.

Most clients are surprised by how tolerable Lip Blush is. Lips are pre-numbed. Topical numbing is applied before the outline, again after the outline, and again after the first pass of pigment. Three rounds of numbing, with reapplications as needed throughout. (Brows, by contrast, can't be pre-numbed because the skin is too thin around the brow bone — which is why brow clients sometimes feel more.) For Lip Blush, most clients describe the sensation as a gentle vibrating scratch on a sensitive area. Bring headphones — the machine buzzes. The session is 2-3 hours, and many clients fall asleep.

Yes, but the Valtrex protocol is mandatory. The procedure can trigger a dormant herpes simplex outbreak. You must take an antiviral (Valtrex or equivalent) starting 5 days before your appointment, and continuing for 5 days after. Get the prescription from your doctor or a telehealth visit at least 1 week before your appointment. No exceptions — without it, your healing can be severely compromised.

Lip Blush lasts an average of 2-4 years, longer than brows on average. Color softens gradually rather than disappearing. Factors that fade it faster: sun exposure (lips have less melanin), smoking, exfoliating lip scrubs, and certain medications. A yearly Color Boost keeps the color saturated but is never required.

Every new Lip Blush service is a layered process. Sometimes, yes. But sometimes, the lips need neutralization first. Naturally dark or cool-toned lips can mute warmer pigments. After the 10-day heal, yes. But most clients stop reaching for lipstick. The whole point of Lip Blush is that you no longer need it. Use a hydrating balm or tinted gloss instead. SPF lip balm is the one product you should keep using daily. Sun is the biggest fader.

Filler and Lip Blush coexist beautifully together. If you have existing filler, it must be at least 14 days old (4 weeks is ideal) before Lip Blush. If you're getting new filler, schedule it for at least 4 weeks after your perfecting session. Never receive both treatments within the same week.
